Post offices and packages.

Many of you have asked where you can mail packages, cards, letters of encouragement etc... I plan on making approximately 10 stops to post offices throughout the summer. The list is below. There are a couple of things you should keep in mind: 1. food is good! brownies, cookies etc... I'm especially happy to be able to eat absolutely anything I want this summer as I'll be burning off around 4,000 calories a day. 2. if you send sweets don't send more than 1 dozen of anything as they will simply spoil or worse I will have to tote 6 dozen cookies around on the trail. Food=good....weight in my pack=bad. You do the math and figure out what makes sense. 2. dried food items are awesome; fruits and nuts, beef jerky etc...are all good choices. 3. be cognizant that anything you send me...I have to carry! 4. You'll need to watch the map and figure out when I'll be within a weeks walk of a particular post office. I've included the mile marker that each post office represents below. You can figure that I'll average around 80 - 100 miles per week. Also just keep checking back on the blog as I'll be posting hopefully a few times per month.

The format for mailing is standard for any envelope or package but the package must include all of the info listed below. They are strict that the package be clearly marked that it is for an AT Hiker. They will hold a package for approximately 2 weeks.
